Training Program for IAS/IPS/JFS Officers

Sub: One-week training program on “Environmental Sensitization for Good Governance” for IAS/IPS/JFS officers, scheduled to be held from December 18-22, 2017 at Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi -regarding

Sir,

Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi is going to conduct a five-day training programme on “Environmental Sensitization for Good Governance” from December 18-22, 2017 for the officers to be derived from Indian Administrative Service/Indian Police Service/Indian Forest Service. The participating officers to be nominated for the programme would be in the rank of Addl. Commissioner, DIG, and Conservator from the IAS, IPS and IFS cadres, respectively.

2. The objectives of the programme are premised upon:

(i) Understanding the implications of protection, restoration and conservation in sustainable development,

(ii)Assesses the impact of climate change on bio-sphere reserve, human life and livelihood; role of human action in mitigation the risks and adaptation strategies,

(iii) Comprehend the significance of Green India Mission for addressing challenges of Climate change, protecting environment and improving forest based livelihood opportunities,

(iv) Appreciate the importance of biodiversity, green spaces and ecosystem services in a sustainable model of development, and

(v) Identify best practices in environmental governance thereby evolving a robust plan for sustainable use of natural resources promoting a cleaner growth path.

3. In view of the above, 1 request you to nominate one officer each from Indian Administrative Service/Indian Police Service/Indian Forest Service for the program considering the aforesaid seniority level. The nominations with their particulars viz. name, designation, address, telephone, fax number, e-mail, brief bio-data encapsulating their academic background and carried out responsibilities may kindly be sent to the undersigned on or before 16th October, 2017.

4. Nominations may also be sent via email, help process the list of participants at faster pace. Since the participant number is limited in this programme, confirmation to attend the programme will follow ‘first come- first served’.

5. It is further requested that the nominated officer may be informed to kindly contact us so that detail training schedule etc. could be given in time.
