Name of the Scheme: Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme or Punjab Mukhya Mantri Scholarship Yojna 2018

1. Objective of the Scheme

With a view to attract quality students and improve admission percentage in the State Govt. Polytechnic Colleges in the Diploma Level Courses, the Punjab Govt. started “Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme’’ from session 2017-18 onwards. Under this scheme partial/ full tuition fee is waived off on the basis of percentage of marks in qualifying
examination. Any eligible meritorious candidate can get admission under this scheme. At present 26 Govt. Polytechnic Colleges are running scheme across the state. The list of all such institution is given as per annexure-1 all with complete address and contact numbers.

The objective of this scheme is to provide scholarship to those students whose marks in matriculation or 10+2 (science/Vocational) or ITI are more than 60%. On the basis of their marks, tuition fee is proportionally waived off.

2. Eligibility Criteria/Who Can Apply

For 1st year diploma Course excluding Pharmacy and MOP

10th pass with Math, Science and English with minimum 60% marks

For Lateral Entry

10+2 (Science/Vocational) or ITI with minimum 60% marks

For Diploma in MOP

10+2 Pass with minimum 60% marks

For Diploma in Pharmacy

10+2 with Science with minimum 60% marks

3. Benefits /Assistance Given:

Under the Chief Minister Scholarship scheme, tuition fee is waived off on the basis of marks of the students securing in qualifying examination as under.

For Diploma Students (1st Semester)

6. How to apply/Procedure to submit application

The student can apply on admission portal of the Punjab State Board of Technical Education, Chandigarh during centralized counseling in which Candidate feeds his/her percentage of the marks in the qualifying examination. On the basis of Marks, a computerized fee slip of CM Scholarship is generated in triplicate. The candidate deposits his/her fees according to the percentage of marks obtained by him/her in qualifying examination. After the close of centralized counseling, the candidate can apply on above application directly in college.

7. Where to submit Application

The Student can apply for this CM scholarship during online counseling or can apply on above application directly in college.

8. Service delivery time line

As per Govt Notification, student can apply for this scholarship during online counseling which generally closes in the mid of month of July. After 16th July, the students can apply directly to the College Principal for getting benefit of this scheme.
