STRENGTHENING OF 108 COMMUNITY CENTRES FOR PROVIDING EQUIPMENTS AND RAW MATERIAL (SCA)
The scheme of Community Centres was started in the year 1956-57. Under the scheme Women and Girls of Scheduled Castes living Below Poverty Line and also Women and Girls of other sections of society are given training in cutting, tailoring and embroidery to enable them to be self employed after getting the training and helping them to be self dependent, economically.
Duration of training : One year
Norms for Shifting Community Centres in a Village:-
a) Centres are being shifted in those villages where the population of Scheduled Caste families is more than 40 and majority of them belongs to BPL families.
b) A good rent free building with proper arrangement of Water and Light to be arranged by the concerned village panchayat and community should be ready to participate in the activities of the centre.
Working
Duration of training is one year. During the training the readymade items which are being prepared in the centre by the trainees are sold on 10% profit by holding exhibitions on different occasions. Funds received from the income are utilized as revolving funds for the purchase of raw material of imparting training in cutting, tailoring and embroidery to the trainees.
