Punjab Khadi & Village Industries Board (Amendment) Act, 2016

(Punjab Act No. 36 of 2016)

BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Sixty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

1.Short title and commencement:-

(1) This Act may be called the Punjab Khadi and Village Industries Board (Amendment) Act, 2016.

(2) It shall come into force on and with effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

2.Amendment of section 4 of Punjab Act 40 of 1956.

In the Punjab Khadi and Village Industries Board Act, 1955 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act) in section 4,-

(i) in sub-section (1) and in the proviso thereto, for the word “Chairman” wherever occurring , the words and sign “Chairman, Senior Vice-Chairman” shall be substituted; and

(ii) in sub-section (2), for the word “Chairman”, the words and signs “Chairman, Senior Vice-Chairman, Vice-Chairman” shall be substituted.

3. Amendment of section 5-A of Punjab Act 40 of 1956.

In the principal Act, in section 5-A and in margin thereto, for the word “Chairman”, wherever occurring, the words and sign “Chairman, Senior Vice-Chairman” shall be substituted.

4. Amendment of section 14-A of Punjab Act 40 of 1956.

In the principal Act, in section 14-A, in sub-section (2), for the word and sign “Vice-Chairman”, the words and signs “Senior Vice-Chairman, Vice-Chairman” shall be substituted.

5. Amendment of section 31-A of Punjab Act 40 of 1956.

In the principal Act, in section 31-A, in sub-section (3), in clauses (a) and (b), for the word “Chairman” wherever occurring, the words and signs “Chairman, Senior Vice-Chairman” shall be substituted.
