No, 21/07/2015-5L/137997 Whereas to enable the employees working in the Shops and Commercial Establishments situated in the State of Punjab to exercise their franchise in the General elections of Gram Panchayats-2018 to be held on 30-12-2018 (Sunday), it is considered in the public interest to declare 30-12-2018 as a paid holiday in the State of Punjab,
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to subsection (1) of Section 10 of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958 (Punjab Act No. 15 of 1958) and all others powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to fix ‘Sunday’ falling on 30-12-2018 to be ‘Closed day’ for all Shops and Commercial establishments located in the State of Punjab in lieu of weekly off falling between 30th December, 2018 and 05th January, 2019 on account of Gram Panchayat elections in the State of Punjab,
