Name of the Scheme:- Upgradation of Merit of Scheduled Caste students.
1 Objective of the scheme in brief:
The main objective of the scheme is to upgrade the merit of Scheduled Caste students by providing them with facilities for all round development through education in residential/non-residential schools.
2. Eligibility criteria/who can apply:
Student must belong to SC category and resident of Punjab.In this scheme there is no income limit.
3. Benefits/Assistance given:-
A package grant of 25,000/- per student per year will be given with the following break up:-
(1) Rs. 15,000/- per student per year as under:-
- Boarding & lodging charges @ Rs. 900 per month for 10 months= Rs. 9000/- (This component would be payable to the students studying in residential schools only)
- Pocket money @ Rs. 300 for 10 months = Rs. 3000
- Books and stationary Rs. 3000
(2) Rs. 10,000/- per year per student for Honorarium to principal, experts and other incidental charges
