Guideline for General Scholarship Scheme

Name of the scheme:- General Scholarship Scheme

1) Objective of the Scheme:-

Under this scheme, in every education block, 3 boys and 3 girls who top in 5th class are given Rs. 1000 one time scholarship and 3 boys and 3 girls who top in 8th class are given Rs. 1500 one time scholarship.

2) Eligibility Criteria/Who can apply:-

Under this scheme, in every education block, 3 boys and 3 girls who top in 5th class are given Rs. 1000 one time scholarship and 3 boys and 3 girls who top in 8th class are given Rs. 1500 one time scholarship. In this scheme there is no Parent’s Income limit.

3) Benefits/Assistance given:-

Under this scheme, in every education block, 3 boys and 3 girls who top in 5th class are given Rs. 1000 one time scholarship and 3 boys and 3 girls who top in 8th class are given Rs. 1500 one time scholarship.

6) How to Apply/Procedure to submit application:-

Every year a list of eligible students (who passed matriculation examination scoring 80% and above marks from Government and Adarsh School affiliated to PSEB) is taken from Punjab School Education Board. The list of the eligible students(in every education block, 3 boys and 3 girls who top in 5th and 3 boys and 3 girls who top in 8th class) is sent to the concerned DEO for preparing proposal.

7) Where to submit application:-

Student->School head/principal->D.E.O(SE)->D.P.I(SE)

8) Service delivery time-line:-

After receiving the budget from the Government the funds are transferred to DEO online.

9) Formats of sanctions to be received by the beneficiary (to be added as annexure):-

The amount is transferred directly to the bank account of the student.
